This week was mainly finishing up final walls, step prep, connecting back in the original brick walls to the new ones and lots of concrete filling (by hand and many wheelbarrow trips) to slowly backfill the retaining walls. We also did lots of planning and have pressed the button on the kitchen unit fabrication, re-measured layout and made a few tweaks now there is more certainty on the wall positions. We’ve also started planning the upstairs bathroom layout – which I’ve wanted to since we moved in! No drone shots this week from James as not much has changed visually.
Exciting week coming up – spoiler alert – the steels are due to arrive on Thursday, which may mean cranes to get the initial framework in place. Removal of the outer skin of the kitchen wall may also start but no breakthrough into the house yet…
