The week started with the completion of the drainage, which meant more drilling – hopefully it really is the last of it now! They made quick work of it though and by mid-week all was put back with new drainage all connected up (inspected by Bella & Bailey), which enabled the plumber to come in and start the prep for some of the new pipework. We now have water to the new sink area, an outside tap and have had most of our old plumbing replaced ready to connect up the en-suite too.
The rest of the week was focussed on the roof and ceiling, adding in all remaining ceiling batons internally and building the frame for the new roof joists in the extension area. We’ve got the first few angled pieces in so you can start to see the roofline on the extension part which will match in with the roof above the lounge window area. This will likely be the focus for next week as roof lanterns are due to go in early the following week. We’re also taking delivery of the new window on Monday for the side of the extension so that can be fitted too. That will just leave the patio doors due in 3 weeks and it will then all be secure and water tight again.
We’ve supplied our electrical and fittings layout and now have various gadgets turning up as it won’t be too long before first fit needs thinking about. We’ve also needed to finalise the en-suite plans as they may move up to focus in there if they have a gap between work being completed and being able to start on floor and plaster boarding of the kitchen.
