Week 24 – Flipping Giant Curtains (FGC)!

A short week, but thankfully all went to plan and the planned fitting of our patio doors went ahead without problems. ‘FGC’ (Frameless Glass Curtains is the official name, I believe) did a great job with a 4 man team to install in a few hours, and we are now watertight for the first time since January.

Apologies for lots of pictures, but we are excited by this milestone! Lots of other bits and bobs this week too:

  • Shower wet room tray installed into the Ensuite floor
  • Final fixing of piping for showers, taps and towel radiator (although will be replaced with a taller one!)
  • All ensuite items arrived ready for fitting, just waiting for the w/c
  • Casement windows fitted into side window of the extension
  • Further electrical and plumbing prep work, including new external power source to patio areas
  • Glass patio doors installed – we still need some strength training / loosening of the doors over time so that Clare can open them too!
  • Internal wall put in between the rear porch and the kitchen area
  • Initial plaster boarding of the kitchen walls, mainly around the window and new door areas
  • Began to dismantle the tunnel which will likely go fully from early next week to open the kitchen back up to full size and they can remove the final wall to show the full extent of the kitchen floor space

Lots more items ordered too that are turning up regularly, including the new kitchen radiators that will arrive on Monday.
