A short week with only 3 working days, but still some good progress although it feels like it’s spread now throughout the house as a number of rooms are being worked on at the same time. The focus is on getting all to a point of being ready for decoration, so more plaster boarding and wall preparation in the main:
- Final concrete of the pond area broken out, layer of brickwork removed from the old planting area and general levelling of the ground to be decked later
- Ceiling lowered in the new office / snug room (old dining room), and plaster boarded with all cabling for the media hub shelving area prepared
- Lantern upstands painted and area prepared for fitting of LED lights into the tracks
- Downstairs WC fully boarded and initial plumbing work (toilet, radiator and vanity unit) installed
- Further preparation, coating, filling and sanding of the stairs and landing walls
- Dressing room ceiling boarded
- Ensuite ceiling boarded
- Ensuite shower wall boarded and shower fittings installed (and working, I found out later!)
Back to a full week next week so looking forward to seeing more progress in all rooms, and hopefully the kitchen getting closer to completion. The first of the stone worktops (cooking island, main unit run and splash back) is due for installation on Wednesday, and hopefully we’ll also hear about the date for the delivery and installation of the wooden top for the breakfast bar and final items of kitchen fit on Monday.
