Week 66 – Cracking on after a short break

As it was half term and the main builder was away, there was not much action on site for most of the week as he now wants to oversee the last items of completion. On Thursday we did a full top to bottom run down of the snagging list items, and they got cracking with many of these on Friday to be completed early next week. The decking balustrade frame will be started too, as well as the final guttering and tiling of the patio.

Main activities in this short week:

  • Stickers on the lantern windows removed from both the outside and inside of the glass – this had been long overdue since they were installed last year
  • Multiple cracks in the kitchen ceiling raked and filled, ready for final touch up sanding and painting
  • Hairline crack in kitchen wall repaired
  • Screw head dimples in bulk head filled
  • Door frame to office repainted
  • Minor marks and paintwork in downstairs cloakroom painted
  • Walls & woodwork in annex corridor touched up where needed
  • Staircase & landing walls touched up where needed
  • Landing ceiling and window frame cracks filled
  • Ensuite walls and ceiling cracks raked and filled
  • …and a major milestone, the builders cabin that has been on site for 13 months was removed – just the skip and portaloo to go!
