Week 68 – Skipping ahead

Whilst it wasn’t quite the week of activity we expected, there was still plenty of progress with more tasks being ticked off as we get closer to completion. Initially this was focussed on the painting of the patio walls, and then the rail being fitted for the patio glass – around that there was lots of small jobs, tidying and clearing of materials. Thursday saw another milestone as the skip was finally removed after being ever present for nearly a year, albeit replaced frequently. Just the portaloo to go now!

The work to complete the internal items will conclude again next week, but we might not get to full completion quite yet…

Main activities this week:

  • Sanding and painting of patio walls & steps (two further coats)
  • Tidying of steps to remove paint and grouting residue
  • First layer of gravel applied to patio drainage run off – a top layer of grey stones now needed to complete that area
  • Touch up of grouting to “floating platform” at the steps of the decking area
  • Painting and filling of back door internal threshold
  • Fitting of frameless glass balustrade base rail to decking area, now awaiting glass panels to complete that area
  • Redistribution of driveway stones following removal of skip and other general clearing of material and equipment on the drive
  • Full clean and tidy inside and out, including all windows externally
  • Run through of outstanding items on Thursday
