Week 33 – Ensuring we are in sink

After what felt like a slower start to the week, there was still quite a bit of progress and certainly the feeling continued that we are getting to a stage of completion in some rooms with continued good progress in others – but that too makes it slightly frustrating that we can’t control what is being worked on and when now that everything is so visual!

Key work from this week:

  • Kitchen sink and dishwasher fitted – we can finally start to move fully into the kitchen!
  • Electricians completed the setup of the lantern and kitchen LED lighting, resolving a minor issue on an LED strip and configuring all apps for the smart controls
  • Previous plastering in the en-suite and dressing was white washed
  • Outside rendering was completed on the extension to match existing house render – now just needs painting to be completed
  • Further work in the hallway area to prepare walls for decoration – more to come on that next week!
  • Skirting boards & door architraves painted and glossed in the kitchen
  • Skirting boards added to office / snug room and initial work started on the media cabinet area
  • Radiator moved in the office / snug
  • Kitchen walls painted with final coat
  • Lantern up-stands painted after final LED fitting
  • Internal doors painted, including both new doors and the previous doors we’ve re-used
  • Door handles fitted on all internal doors
  • Kitchen bulk head frame above the main island area started – ready for extractor installation next week
  • New window installed in the en-suite – this is the first of 11 new windows being fitted upstairs, which hopefully will be a focus of next week
