It was a short week with the Bank Holiday, so the focus continued on the completion of the internal work – primarily the en-suite and cloakroom. We now have 2 fully working toilets, sinks and, for the first time in nearly a year, we have a working upstairs shower. On Friday, they spent a full day cleaning top to bottom and more decorating items and tools were moved out of the completed rooms.
Summary of activities this week:
- Drainage completed for the cloakroom toilet, including replacing a manhole cover in the front path
- Connection of toilet within cloakroom
- Final coat of paint to rear porch area walls
- Final painting of dressing room walls, ceiling and skirting
- Completion of tile edge sealant throughout en-suite – now watertight and finished throughout
- En-suite vanity unit and electric mirror fitted
- Shower screen fitted and sealed
- Fitting of sink, toilet and bath in en-suite
- Final painting of en-suite walls, and touch-up of ceiling post grouting (plastic sheets still to be removed!)
- Installation of towel rail in en-suite
- Filling of old sockets / switches in stairs and landing area
- Internal door frame and prep work for sliding door for utility cupboard in utility room
- Addition of double socket to hallway, prep for removing previous single socket in the concrete skirting
- Labelling of circuits and appliance sockets throughout kitchen
- Adjustment of large chandelier light in the cloakroom
- Cleaning and tidying top to bottom
