As well as a short week it was also quite a slow one and we had our first day since the work started (46 weeks ago!) with no one on site at all on the Thursday. The internal focus is on the decoration and the external work is currently slightly in limbo as we need more scaffolding to go up before they can commence the work on the chimney. The scaffolding then needs to be removed before any further work can continue on the patio and associated work to complete the external areas. Hopefully that will start to be unlocked from next week, and in the meantime the internal decoration will continue.
A short summary this week:
- Hall and landing woodwork painted with final coat around all areas ready for wallpapering
- Door frames painted with final coat in hall and landing
- Woodwork around porch door and stairway in hall painted to match staircase
- Further filling and painting of staircase, nearing final coat
- Completion of door frame surround for new cellar door
- Door handle added to second door of kitchen from hallway
- Door handles added to cellar door and replaced in porch inner door
- Wallpapering started in landing area
