The weather slightly changed the focus of the week, with less chance to complete the outside painting and therefore be able to remove the scaffolding for another week – it’s hopeful we’ll get a couple of clear days this week to enable that to be completed. That didn’t slow down the work though generally as they really cracked on with the bathroom, carried on with yet more painting and fitted most of the guttering to the new extension area.
Main work completed:
- Finished painting in rear porch, including external back door and adjoining internal doors to the kitchen and annex hall – and finally removed the protective covers on the glass!
- Completed all paint work in the annex corridor, which once new ply flooring goes down will be ready for carpet fitting the week after next
- Radiator fitted to annex corridor
- Flooring of bathroom completed, including sloped wet room shower area and fitting of integrated drainage slot
- Wooden frame to shower area added to lose impact of triangular corner within the shower
- Boarding of all walls and ceiling for bathroom
- Removal of temporary window frame in bathroom
- Installation of wall hung toilet frame and internal plumbing – with initial external work started, to be completed next week
- Completion of shower pipework
- First coat of paint to utility room sliding door, and prep work on the restored wooden doorframe
- Undercoat painting of front porch area, including all walls, wood and ceiling – ready for further full decoration to match main hallway
- Completion of all window trickle vents internally and externally – much to Clare’s delight!
- Fitting of most of the guttering to the new extension, ready for completion with flat roof run offs once scaffolding removed
- …and we took delivery of our new “co-working” desks in the new office. Let’s see how conducive that is to simultaneous work calls and online meetings!
