Week 55 – Bathroom Blitz & Patio Patience

The bathroom continued to be the main focus with further unsettled weather wiping out most of Monday. That meant whilst the plastering was completed the tiler couldn’t do the completion of the prep work for the patio until Tuesday. He then moved back into the bathroom for the rest of the week and completed the tiling, grouting and skirting, meaning that is now well ahead of schedule and can be completed with a bit of painting and second fixes for plumbing and electrics next week. That said, he did come back on Saturday and started the patio laying, which will continue next week if the weather allows..

The rest of the work was mainly painting and touching up areas of the kitchen hallway and outside ready for a final push and caulking and sealing all edges – as well as the bricklayers returning to repair the drive edges that had been destroyed by the various lorries and delivery trucks which are now long gone. There are not so many pictures this week as most of these little details are not very visual in the pics. Hopefully significant changes on the patio will be available next week along with a fully completed bathroom.

Main activities this week:

  • Bathroom plastered to walls and ceilings where no tiling will be used
  • Niche shelf cut out in shower area
  • Completion of wall tiling in bathroom
  • Grouting and chrome edging completed to all areas of tiling
  • Shower tray built-in tiling completed
