Week 58 – Snow-go-patio

As expected the weather that came on Sunday evening put a blocker on any external work taking place for a few days and the patio work will now be completed in the New Year. That meant a further focus and clear run towards completing all internal work ready for Christmas. There was also a bit of sickness across the team, with the decorator in particular impacted. However, still some significant progress marked mainly by the further completion of the bathroom, the addition of the carpets to stairs and landing and further drainage and internal decorating throughout. We also had our dining table and matching coffee table delivered, as well as all chairs – so we can host Christmas! The next week (now this week, sorry for the delay!) is completing bits and pieces inside and out and working through a snagging list of jobs at full pace – likely working all through the week up until Christmas Eve!

Main activities this week:

  • Boarding added to landing floor to provide a level surface for new carpet to be laid
  • Wallpapering to front porch completed
  • Stair & landing carpets fitted
  • Banisters painted with final coat
  • General filling and tidying of paintwork throughout
  • Final pieces of tape removed from extension window (having been in place for 8 months!)
  • Final coat of paint to window sill of extension window
  • Lights installed to main bathroom
  • Painting of bathroom door and frames
  • Delivery and fitting of dining table – installed by company director of Kelham Island Concrete, all the way from Sheffield
  • Full tidy and clear out and initial snagging list review
